Well, we have left the country, last impressions in Brisbane of a beautiful autumn day - blue skies, promise of a warm day. The Australian customs people were very friendly and cheerful even as they relieved us of all our scissors, inadvertantly left in carry on luggage. The young customs man asked Ashur if he was carrying over $10,000 in currency, to which Ash replied "I don't know" - "good answer " the customs man said - " you can go through".
Overnight and this morning in South Korea - close to Seoul - grey and misty - trees without leaves - Northern hemisphere winter. A feeling in the airport of a sort of regimented chaos if that is possible - everyone in a hurry and sooo many people. On reflection the pace is so much slower in Brisbane.
Sue's entry (because everything on this site isin Korean so we cannot read where to go to create a new posting)
Impressions: why is the huge aeroplane so empty? When Ashur flushed the loo, I heard it from outside - a terribly scary swallowing sound. He opened the door quite quickly ,his eyes wide with "better get in touch with mum."
Arriving at the airport, Ashur asked "why is everybody so brown when it's the middle of winter?" This was chaotic in that there were people hurrying everywhere but we realized as we spent two hours making our way out simply to spend the night as an overnight transit, that all the hurry was probably people retracing their steps all over the place as we were.
Arriving at our room, we were guessing what direction was east as all is grey and foggy/misty - a place surrounded by water by the looks of the map. Chose east by feeling & celebrated that it turned out right! So happy to find ituition growing stronger which I'm hoping that is a sign of.
